Hospitalisation for seniors is now getting more attention due to the understanding of their multiple health issues which warrants long hospital stay. Well-trained para medical staff also come to play a role in managing the health issues of the elderly. In a bid to bridge the gap for the first time in India Geri Care Hospital was recently launched in Chennai. Speaking to reporters Dr Srinivas and Dr Lakshmipathy Ramesh founder-director of Gericare said “We as geriatricians recognised the need and necessity for a specialised and exclusive geriatric hospital. Thus is India's first exclusive geriatric hospital managed by experienced geriatricians adept in managing complex disease and drugs interactions due to enhanced team approach.
